EAA Foundation Wins 2024 Anthem Award for Education in Emergencies Response Programme
The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, a global foundation for education and development, has won the 2024 Anthem Award for its Education in Emergencies (EiE) projects. The projects have helped children from particular disaster areas, such as Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Palestine, cope with their everyday realities. They follow specific educational and socioemotional requirements, which were developed by EAA Foundation’s Innovation Development Directorate. The project's materials are free, open source, and interdisciplinary, with low resource requirements, often deploying play-based, engaging, real-world learning methods motivated by the learners’ surroundings and context.
In the face of educational disruptions, the projects successfully scaled mental health and socioemotional well-being assistance to guarantee learning continuity. The projects’ free and open-source interventions address specific problems for various emergencies and are easy to deploy and use.
In Ukraine, Poland, the United States, Greece, Qatar, and Pakistan, the EiE projects have reached over 10,000 internally displaced and refugee children. These consist of radio-based programming and personalised learning materials, ensuring adequate reach to marginalised and conflict-affected communities through various convenient modalities.
Education Above All Foundation, seeks to create tangible solutions for interrupted access to quality education in marginalised communities. It ensures access to high-quality learning resources and contributes to the Foundation’s overall vision of promoting the global right to education.
