IR PAL intends to establish a specialized Psychosocial Counselling Centre for Child and Family in the South area of the Gaza Strip. The Centre is a multidisciplinary project which will target children and adolescents. This will be through psychosocial intervention designed at the Centre, at schools, and at other community places and by delivering specialized services for them.

Experienced professional team consisting mainly of counsellors, psychologist and social workers will operate the Centre. The proposed project will target 200 children in preschool and school age (4-18 years old) who are vulnerable in areas, which are highly exposed to armed conflict in order to overcome their stress and trauma. It will also target 200 parents by providing them with awareness sessions related to child mental health.

Moreover, psycho-educational activities including workshops and meetings on mental health issues for 60 teachers and school counsellors and 60 other professionals working in related local community based organizations (CBOs) will be conducted in the Centre. In addition, in-service training for the centre staff will be carried out.
