Qatar Scholarship – EAA/Luminus Technical University College
The influx of Syrian refugees into Jordan over the past decade has resulted in around 1.3 million registered and unregistered Syrian refugees in the country. Syrian refugees account for more than 10 percent of Jordan’s total population, placing an additional strain on Jordan’s already struggling economy, healthcare, and education systems.
Social inequalities persist for youth across the country, while poverty, lack of affordable and safe transportation, poor education quality, limited professional opportunities, and administrative issues with enrolment are all barriers to education. As of 2021, only 34.4% of youth in Jordan were enrolled in higher education.
The Qatar Scholarship – EAA / Luminus Technical University College (LTUC) partnership provides access to high-quality educational programmes of study, including diplomas, associate degrees, and bachelor degrees, for underserved Syrian, Palestinian, and Jordanian youth. 50% of the total scholarships are allocated for beneficiaries who are designated Syrian and Palestinian refugees, while 50% of the scholarships are allocated for marginalized Jordanian nationals.
