ID operates across five focus areas, identified as core challenges requiring targeted intervention. In collaboration with our partners, we co-develop solutions that undergo a structured and iterative ideation cycle of piloting and testing to ensure long-term sustainability and scalability.
- Partners are encouraged to propose projects aligned with ID’s solutions, based on the ideation phase and corresponding requirements.
- Alternatively, they may contribute their own solutions that align with ID’s focus areas or other EAA Foundation programmes’ mandate and identified challenges.
ID Preliminary Criteria
Partners, EAA Foundation programs, and/or ID can design and co-develop a new solution based on the challenges identified in collaboration with the government.
- The following preliminary criteria will be used for solutions:
- The challenge must be reflected in government strategy. The solution and project must have government endorsement, acknowledging EAA Foundation’s support of the project.
- The solution must be based on an innovative approach, with a clear technical role for the Innovation team. This could include ID team involvement in design, development, customisation, etc.
- The solution will be co-designed and co-developed with ID and an implementing partner, along with other experts/strategic partners where required.
- All solutions need to be community-centred and designed for sustainability, beyond the life of the project.
- The project must include a clear MEL plan with clear outputs and research questions to facilitate learning.
- The solution and project should align with some or all EAA Foundation’s priorities, including:
- The challenge must be aligned with one or more of EAA Foundation’s program mandates (EAC, Silatech, ROTA, Al Fakhoora, and PEIC).
- Enabling multi-sectoral interventions and reflecting progress towards multiple SDGs.
- Enabling policy reform and sustainable system support change.
- Incorporate innovative financing techniques.
