Promotion of the Kampot Traditional Music and Dance School for Orphaned and Disabled children, Kampot Province
The Kampot Traditional Music School, founded in 1994, provides cultural education focusing on Khmer traditional Music and Dance and vocational training to approximately 30 orphaned / disabled / vulnerable children as well as approximately 170 external children from the local community in the town of Kampot in Kampot Province, Cambodia.
In March 2009, ROTA approved funding of a project proposal received from the Kampot Traditional Music and Dance School (KCDI). ROTA financed a consultancy aimed at supporting and empowering the School’s Administration, staff and children in identifying interesting income generation projects, ideally allowing for the School to increase its long term financial autonomy and self-sufficiency.
